PAGASA’s STC was invited as one of the Guest Speakers at the 2nd Gen. Meeting of Packaging Institute of the Phils. (PiP) on 27 June 2013. (L-R) STC, Maria Lourdes L. Agustin/DILG’s NCR Asst. Reg. Dir., PiP Pres. Joseph Ross S. Jocson, MMDA Gen. Mgr. Usec. Corazon T. Jimenez, PiP VP-External Affairs Ms. Edita P. Molato, PiP Director/Past Pres. Henry L. Gaw & Sugianto Tandio/Pres. Director of P.T. Tirta Marta of Indonesia. The latter presented his breakthrough tapioca/cassava-based plastic bags/products which cost as little as other non-food biodegradable bags/products. He chose the less-favored variant of cassava to make sure production of his products do not affect the food chain and still help the poorest farmers of his country.

PAG ASA’s STC was invited to a Special Meeting with Mr. Bjoern Kempe, General Manager of Comexposium (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.>organizer of the SIAL Trade Shows worldwide. Mr. Kempe inquires about the needs of Filipino buyers when attending shows like his in Shanghai and how he could assist. Meeting was set up by Jill Aithnie S. Ang/Managing Director (across STC) of Worldbex Services Int’l.

On the eve of 10 June 2013, PAGASA was represented at the Phil. Business for Education (PBEd) Meeting with Industry Representatives that have to do with Management (to solve the skills gap and mismatch problems in the country through the creation of Industry-Academe partnerships) at the Tower Club. This was the third follow-through meeting with PBEd since the Summit held in Cebu this January. Present were STC, Dr. Torralba, Ph.D., Atty. Rico de Guzman (PMAP), Bill Luz (National Competitiveness Council), Dr. Reynaldo Vea (Pres./Mapua Inst. of Technology) and representatives from the Business Processing Assn. of the Phils. and PBEd.
