PAGASA was invited by the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia on its Special Occasion on the eve of 5 September 2024 to Dusit Thani Hotel. PAGASA's STC met up with Mr. Mar2tin Pandapotan, Commercial Attache of the Indonesian Embassy. He wants to invite PAGASA Members to their Expo in Jakarta from 9-12 Oct. 2024.

On 4 September 2024, PAGASA was invited to a high-level Meet with members of the Supply Chain Mgt. Assn. of the Phils. (SCMAP) at EDSA Shangrila regarding 6the latest updates on logistics and distributors' travails in making sure that items from principals are evenly scattered country-wide. Invited were DTI Usec. Maria Jean Pacheco, Cold Chain Assn. of the Phils. (CCAP) Pres. Anthony Dizon, Vivek Gawri- Mondelez' Customer Service & Logistics Head (in a huddle w/Usec., SCMAP Pres. Dennis B. Llovido/Nestle's Head of Logistical Support & Procurement Anderson Martins & PAGASA's STC) UA&P Profesors Ronilo M. Balbieran & Henrik Batallones (w/eyeglasses), Vin Perez- Country Head, Ninja Van Services, Maersk Pres. Victor Tan, et. al.

PAGASA has been represented annually at all editions of the National Retail Conference since 1998. This year was no exception. The influential speakers, both local and international, shared new retail trends and updates for two days on 29-30 August at the SMX in Pasay. The organizer, PRA, has joined forces with PAGASA to present this biggest of all local Retail Conferences year in and out. On its 40th edition, NRCE presented as speakers SM's Hans Sy and son Chicco. This year's edition broke attendance records at close to 800 delegates.

PAGASA Member Prince Retail Group of Companies announced on 27 August 2024 that they have been nominated as an Awardee for this year's Event to be held at Vientiane, Laos. Hats' off to the Prince Retail Group!

On 20 August 2024, PAGASA Executive Director Steven T. Cua accidentally bumped into the new Secretary for the Department of Trade & Industry Cristina Aldeguer-Roque at the Manila Hotel and introduced PAGASA to her. Mr. Cua was there attending a meeting for another entity.

Representing PAGASA and the Cebu Retail Association (a Chapter of the PRA), PAGASA Director Robert Go of Prince Retail Group of Companies wrote a Position Paper rejecting proposals for wage increase in Region VII in behalf of all retailers in the Region. This Paper was read by CRA's President Christian T. Paroan at the Tripartite Wage Board's public hearing on 15 August 2024 in Cebu. Posted is Mr. Go's Position Paper as well as submission of the same to the Cebu Retail Association for endorsement and approval.

PAGASA's Executive Director Steven T. Cua attended on 15 August 2024 the 1st of a series of Co-organizers Breakfast Meetings for this year's "Agrilink, Foodlink, Aqualink"> the biggest Agri-Business Trade Show which PAGASA partnered with since 1998. Meeting was held at Victorino's Restaurant along Scout Area in QC.

On the afternoon of 8 August 2024, held via Microsoft Teams simultaneous with the Zoom Meeting of DTI, PAGASA was invited to attend a meeting on "Advancing Knowledge of Sustainable Plastic."

The Department of Trade & Industry called for a Zoom Meeting on 8 August 2024 with their CAAB (Consumer Affairs & Advocacy Bureau> the former CPAB). CAAB Asst. Dir. Werlina Lim first chaired the Mtg in behalf of Dir. Cheryl Carbonell who joined in later. PAGASA was the only participant out of the 13 invited which came from the private sector. Others included Hadassah "Dash" May Cordero of the Phil. Competition Commission who had consulted PAGASA earlier on the same issue, Glen Polo of the Phil. Statistics Authority and Generose B. Manlangit of the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA).

PAGASA held its 3/Q General Meeting on 7 August 2024 at the Chix Inssal outlet within Liana's Supermarket compound in Sampaloc District along Earnshaw Blvd. Chief Consultant Bong Abella, former GM of Mang Inasal under Injap (from Store 1 to 420) briefed PAGASA Members regarding the business model and franchise opportunities of this Chicken House. Of course, updates on retail trends and government thrusts and regulations were discussed that evening.
